(CE) International Evacuation: Proactive versus Reactive Responses

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

This session expands from Evacuate Egypt 2013, providing time and resources for participants to apply the discussed lessons learned and an emergency planning template to planning response protocols for security evacuations. While each situation requiring evacuation is different, many actions remain consist. Who do you need to include? What information will you require? When do you respond? How should you proceed? This interactive session will use scenarios to facilitate participant’s deeper consideration of evacuation procedures; discussion and evaluation of current evacuation procedures; and initial development of a plan addressing each of the above questions. Reflection of current institutional plans will be supported, with an emphasis on identifying action items for participant’s institutions.
Learning Objectives:
 Determine at least 4 questions to assess current
institutional procedures for international security
 Create a checklist of steps to take to create or
implement plans at your institution.
 Using an emergency planning template, recommend
evacuation procedures for your institution.
