(CE) Championing the Management of Minors in Camps

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Administrators and risk managers seek to ensure that camp programs bringing minors to their campus offer a great experience for the participants while protecting the interests and reputation of the faculty, staff, and campus. Tremendous efforts have been made on many campuses, yet a single question still resounds: “When have we done enough?”
Work is nearing completion on a comprehensive tool that will assist you in ensuring that the exposures presented by minors on your campus are properly managed and addressed. This tool identifies over 100 issues that must be managed and provides checklists, guidelines, examples, and recommendations on topics ranging from the screening of employees to the selection of appropriate housing.
Risk managers, program sponsors, faculty, and staff representing institutions across the country have actively contributed to the development of this camps management program. Learn how their collective experience can support your efforts and ensure that your programs meet recognized standards.
Learning Objectives:
Understand the depth and breadth of issues to be
Develop a sound basis for determining when controls
are proper and adequate
Understand how to incorporate guidelines and
recommendations into your program
Be better prepared to develop an effective management
program which meets recognized standards
