Higher education is facing a paradigm shift in external perception of operating as a global business which is driving conversation around metrics such as return on investment, financial consequences when risk isn’t managed intelligently and the illusive “value of education.” These dynamics have influenced the role of risk management with many emerging challenges for those professionals who strive to continually raise the bar in their leadership. This session will discuss those challenges which are influencing perception of strategic risk management on campus, how governance is leading to new accountability, review litigation that supports greater compliance and role clarity amidst those issues.
